over wages. we katie? >> protests just starting to get underway in southern california. we watching people come and go and sweat shirts are handed out and a man has a bullhorn. in new york workers have been at it for hours. >> you heard that as the day rolls out fast food employees in 100 cities will walk off the job of the workers in manhattan began the protest at 6:30. events are planned at lunch at some mcdonald's in san jose, oakland, and antioch. workers are asking for more money, a minimum wage of $15. that wage now is $7.25. that is $15,000 for a full time employees which is not enough. >> until we lit -- lift the workers up there is not a true recovery from the greatest recession since the depression. >> if the minimum wage goes up to $15 an hour food prices will go up and there will be fewer jobs. last month, rebound said he would back a senate measure to raise the minimum wage not to $15 but to $10.10 an hour. san francisco and san jose already pay $10 or more an hour on average. on average they make $9 an hour. >> governor brown hold as strong advantage over potential g.o

>> good morning, everyone, i'm katie marzullo in for carolyn tyler on this sunday. it is 5:00 a.m. we will start you off with a quick look at the weather. the cold snap continues. good morning, katie. >> good morning. we have a spare-the-air day and a freeze warning until 9:00 this morning. temperatures dropping below freezing in many north bay neighborhoods. in the mid-30s in san francisco. we still have a way to go until sunrise. more 20s and 30s, even mid-30s at the coast. by noontime another raw afternoon. the winds will be lighter today. low to mid-50s and 40s by noontime. by the afternoon still as much as 10 degrees below afternoon. we are looking at another freeze warning tonight into monday morning and possibly into tuesday. the good news is that our afternoon highs will be warming up day-to-day. details on that in a few minutes. katie. >> that sounds good. thank you. in the south by officials are working to save lives as the temperature drops low enough to create life-threatening conditions. at least four deaths have occurred this week throughout santa clara county. but

and firefighters still have not located the elderly man who lives in the unit. ktvu's katie utehs is live on the scene with the new information about this mobile park. good morning, katie. >> reporter: good morning, tori. i just got off the phone with san jose fire's public information officer. he says now that it is daylight, the plan to move forward, research this mobile home. as you can see, it's completely gutted. early this morning they got through 80% of the home. they still need to search through the kitchen. they hope that will give them more identification or contact info as they try to find the elderly man who lived here. they do not believe he was home at the time of the fire. let me show you some video and some pictures of the flames and smoke coming from the mobile home at casa mobile home park along monterey in san jose. the smoke could be seen with 101 -- could be seen from 101. the mobile home where the fire started is completely destroyed, as you've seen. they walked through the gutted home and believe the elderly homeowner was not in the unit at the time. they are still

>> good morning, everyone, i'm katie marzullo in for carolyn tyler on this sunday. it is 6:00 a.m. we will start off with a quick first look at the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. >> another freezing cold morning until about 9:00 when the temperatures begin to come out of the 20s and 30s. so as we take you through the morning hours, we will be down into the mid-20s. that sun comes up at 7:13. we are in the upper 20s from novato, napa and santa rosa. san francisco at 39 right now. our coast in in the mid-30s. right through 7:00 very little change. by noontime low to mid-40s. by the afternoon maybe some areas could hit around 50, but overall once again we will be at least 10 degrees below average. just in the upper 40s today. less wind and a spare-the-air day this afternoon. we will look for a moderating trend coming into play as soon as tomorrow. katie. >> warming trend sounds good to me. thank you, lisa. meanwhile in the south bay officials are working to save lives as the temperature drops low enough to create life-threatening conditions. at least four deaths have occurr

that lived in that unit. katie utehs is there. what is the latest on that search with the homeowner? >> reporter: dave, i have a call into san jose public information officer to see if they are any closer to locating this elderly man. at this point i have not heard back. investigators have walked through the mop bill home behind me. as you can see it is completely gutted. but the good news they do not believe anybody was home at the time of the fire. let me show you photos that firefighters snapped this morning as they arrived shortly after 2:00. flames and smoke could be seen from 101 as the unit burned. firefighters are unsure what caused the mobile home fire and they do not think the owner was home at the time. believed to be a 70-year-old man. they do see an increase until fires this time of year when temperatures drop and people try to stay warm. fire department is always looking out for people. making sure they are careful with space heaters. >> i spoke with a neighbor who says he helped the elderly homeowner jump start his car yesterday. pg&e has turned off power to this mobi
